Return Policy, Shipping Policy & Guarantee
Our guarantee: we guarantee that you will receive live and healthy butterflies for any butterfly order of any quantity and delivery location. On the rare occasion that some or all do not survive, you may take a picture of the deceased butterflies with a count and email this to us for a refund. This MUST be done within 7 DAYS of the event for a refund.
If you need to cancel your live butterfly order: for orders less than 8 dozen you will receive a full refund with 7 days or greater notice given. A 10% cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations with less than 7 days notice. For orders of 8 dozen or more, there will be a 10% cancellation fee with 7 days or greater notice and a 20% cancellation fee for less than 7 days notice. There will be no refunds for butterfly orders cancelled within 48 hours prior to the ship date or any item that is personalized or custom printed.
If your butterflies arrive late: unfortunately, no full refunds are given for late deliveries. However, if you are unable to use the butterflies at your event due to a late or non-delivery, we will offer you a choice of one of the following options:
- A full replacement of the complete order at a future date (based upon availability) at no extra charge to you.
- OR - A courtesy refund of 60% of the total cost of the order. (UPS does not offer shipping refunds on issues that are beyond their control, such as weather, road blockages, etc.). We must be notified within 7 days after the event for this refund.
Return Policy: We offer returns only for non-live butterfly products, such as our plantable paper favors, pins, our Beyond Butterflies collection and un-used Mass Release boxes. We do not accept returns for live butterflies or customized products, such as our custom print boxes or plantable paper favors.
No refunds or replacements are given for recipient unavailability. Additionally, no refunds given for custom printed items such as plantable favors or butterfly release boxes.
It is very important that you track your package and are aware of the delivery date & approximate time. Butterflies are normally scheduled to arrive the day before the event, unless it is a Monday or Tuesday event. The main cause of butterfly casualties is extreme heat. If the package is left on a door step all day long in direct sunlight, your butterflies might not survive. Our guarantee is void for recipient unavailability.
When your butterflies are shipped off, you will receive a shipping confirmation where you can track your package. After the package is picked up by UPS, you will be able to track it and get an approximate delivery time. Generally, butterflies arrive before noon. However, in some rural areas the delivery might not be made until later in the afternoon.
Live Butterfly Shipping Information: For most event dates, your butterflies will arrive the day before the event via UPS Next Day Air delivery. For Sunday and Monday events, your package will arrive on Saturday and UPS charges an additional $15.00 for Saturday deliveries. If the event is on a Tuesday, a same day delivery (arriving the day of the event) will be necessary - please see above section regarding refunds for late deliveries. NOTE - It is important to order any other products, such as mass release containers, plantable favors, etc. separately from your live butterfly order since these products should be shipped separately and ahead of time. If they have to be added to the same shipping container as your butterfly order this will greatly increase the shipping cost. |
